SCS BLOGGER #3 - CHALLENGE #1

This is the card that I made for my Blogger Group from SCS (#3). It is the first challenge. We were to use orange and yellow and a floral stamp. I used Confetti cardstock, some scraps of a pattern paper I got at the Hob Lob. I used my Cuttlebug embossing flower folder and my SU Upsy Daisy stamp with my SU Only Orange ink. Oh yeah, I used yellow brads too!

Gift Card Holder

This is a gift card holder that I made. I found it on the blog of Sharon Johnson. Take a look at her blog, it is really great. You can find the directions on her blog here: http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2007/11/02/stamp-simply-challenge-7-gift-card-holders/
I used Bazzill red and white for the card. I also used my SU scallop punch and a Martha Stewart (OH GOD! I can't believe I have purchased another "Marty" item) . I used my white SU pen for the dots. (Nail polish courtesy of OPI - Rosy Mistletosies)

I'm Such A Goat

Idiot me! I loaded my Santa card thinking it was my "first ever" challenge. However, I fibbed, without realizing it). I forgot about the MFT card that I posted below. THAT was my first challenge. What a goat I am sometimes.

A Muse December Home Page Contest and Challenge Card

This is the first time I have entered a card in a contest or the first time I have done a challenge for that matter. I guess I can use this card for both.

I used my A Muse santa stamp and I brayered the ocean and the sun is from SU Warm Wishes and the birds are from a set from MFT. I made the surfboard by cutting the small SU oval punch in half. I also used Primsa Markers and Liquid Applique for santa's beard and hat and the top of the waves.

I hope you like it. It was fun to make!

Two more simple Christmas cards

I made these cards as well as the ones I posted previously. I used my CuddleBug emossing folder (that I received from my Big Sis for SCS), and some Martha Stewart glitter (oh my God, that is twice in about one week that I have admitted to purchasing "Marty" products). Now I have a green glitter and a blue glitter.

Ornaments

These are a couple of the ornaments I have made for gifts. I used clear ornaments I got from The Hob Lob and I cut strips of Basic Grey Christmas paper and curled it and stuffed them in the ornament.

Picture Cube

I found this Making Memories photo cube on clearance at The Hob Lob (Hobby Lobby) for $2.00. For $2.00 you gotta buy it, right?

Well, my wheels started turning last night about midnight and I thought, "I'll make a present for Dal (my husband, Dallas) for Christmas. "

With that being said, this is what I came up with. Let me know what you think. I like the way it came out.

Picture Frame

This is a frame that I made for my friend who just got married in June. I used Bazzill cardstock Basic Grey paper, SU chipboard, pink brads and ribbon.

The "M" and the "J"are cut out of the wedding invitation. The "M" has part of the invitation that has her name on it and the "J" has part of the invitation that has his name on it. The "DOT" of the "I" is also cut out of the invitation with the word "wedding," and the "heart" has the date of the wedding. And, to finish it up, I used the ribbon that was on the wedding program.

I really hope she likes it. It was like a freaking light bulb over my head when I thought to use the wedding invitation as part of the frame.

What do you think?

Christmas Cards

This year I am into "simplicity." I have made these cards and have decided these will be my cards this year. Perhaps I should use some "Martha" glitter on them (see post below).

What do you think?

I'm so NOT a Martha fan...

I'm here to tell you that I do NOT like Martha Stewart. Who knows all that stuff? But most of all, who does all that stuff?

I swore I would never purchase Martha products. So, with that being said, I was at Michael's today and Marty's products were on sale for 30% off. Well, I decided to take a little stroll down Martha Stewart Boulevard and I found this glitter. Do I use glitter? No. Do I need glitter? No. I LOVED the color so much I decided I had to have it. In fact, I may go buy more colors tomorrow.

Now that I am purchasing this glitter, can someone tell me what I can do with it?

Time for the Bubbly!

I just absolutely adore this set (obviously, I have more than one card on here using it - DUH)!!

I want to to the MFT challenge on SCS if I can figure out how to load the card in the MFT gallery.

I used Bazzill cardstock and the pattern paper is K & Company. I also used by SU square scallop punch. I colored the wine bottle with a Prisma marker. I added Prima flowers, brads and ribbon. Oh yeah, and for the bubbles I used Liquid Applique.

Paper piecing is so time consuming but I really enjoy it. :)

Flower Fancy

I used one of the stamps in the Flower Fancy SU set. I also ran the edge of the card through my Cuttlebug (what a wonderful gadget!). I then sponged the card and added a ribbon. For some reason, I am really digging these colors alot lately!

President Obama

Okay, just let me say that I work in a position where my boss is "elected." I will also say that I could really care less about politics of any way, shape or form.

I always thought that I would never be alive to see a black president OR a woman president. Personally, I am thrilled that is has finally happened (although I was REALLY wanting Hillary)!

It has nothing to do with whether I like or dislike McCain, because I have nothing against the man (but his wife? GRRRR.....what a scarey please-let-me-try-to-look-like-Barbie "plastic looking freak"!) Sorry, but I really don't sugar coat things.

I see that maybe now that Obama has been elected, perhaps this country is becoming a little more "tolerant." Maybe Obama looking for a "change" won't be the only change to happen in this country. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

And "by change" I mean, racial tolerance and nothing in a political sense. It doesn't matter who won, there will be people that won't be happy.

SU - Upsy Daisy

For this card I used the long SU notes, Upsy Daisy stamp set, LeJardin paper, Artichoke stamp pad, prima flowers and brads. I have actually had a different background and I didn't like the paper I had so I tore it off and of course there was torn paper and adhesive. I still wanted to use the note card so I took scraps of the LeJardin paper and just put it in different places. I hated it until I stamped it then I decided I like it.

This is a card using Stamps by Judith. I like how it turned out.

Sweet Little Baby Liam

This is my baby grandchild in his Sweet Pea Halloween costume. I just want to squeeze him. He is so sweet and such a good little baby.

I just love this stamp from A Muse. I've become addicted to these stamps. I used A Muse notes. I didn't have a "sun" stamp so I used a circle punch on a sticky note and sponged the sun on.

SU Cards

For this card I used the long SU notes, Upsy Daisy stamp set, LeJardin paper, Artichoke stamp pad, prima flowers and brads. I have actually had a different background and I didn't like the paper I had so I tore it off and of course there was torn paper and adhesive. I still wanted to use the note card so I took scraps of the LeJardin paper and just put it in different places. I hated it until I stamped it then I decided I like it.

This is a saffron color cardstock (I have no idea the manufacturer) and the Inspired by Nature set. I used Close to Cocoa and sponged it all around.

Hmmm...what is the name of this set again? I forget. I used Bazzill Bling cardstock, my scallop pund and PrismaColor markers and some unknown ribbon, which I like.

This is another Upsy daisy card. I used silver embossing powder, Urban Garden DP paper and a couple of brads. I'm not sure that I like the card so much though.

Hi Sexies!

I have been working for hours and hours these last few days so I have not been able to play in my scraproom or do any blogging type things. I even have to work Saturday. I work for a judge and we are in a capital murder trial and the jury is sequestered and we have to be back to work tomorrow at 9:00. I can only hope that since we did not leave the courthouse until midnight tonight (I missed my grandchild's first Halloween - which I will post a picture of him in his "Sweetpea" costume tomorrow), that the jury will be finished early.
